The entry point into scouting! Lion rank is designed with indoor and outdoor activities for kindergarten-age children and their guardians, focused on exploring, playing, and discovering what Scouting is all about — always alongside a parent or guardian.
Age - 6-7 yrs old, Grade level: First Grade
Tiger rank focuses on building confidence, learning family values, and joining in on activities. The Tiger rank marks the beginning of a Cub Scout's exploration of the natural world and community.
Age - 7-8 yrs old, Grade level: Second Grade
The wolf rank emphasizes outdoor skills, character, and teamwork. Scouts start taking on more independence and learning how to work together.
Age - 8-9 yrs old, Grade level: Third Grade
The Bear rank focuses on hobbies, physical fitness, and learning about one's community. Scouts dig deeper into what makes them unique and how they can contribute.
Age - 9-10 yrs old, Grade level: Fourth Grade
The Webelos rank emphasizes outdoor skills, leadership, and preparing to be a BSA Scout. Scouts begin the transition toward more independence and responsibility.
Age - 10 - 11 yrs old, Grade level: Fifth Grade
The end of the Cub Scouts Journey, the Arrow of Light rank is a stand-alone badge of rank for 5th graders and is the program that prepares Cub Scouts to join Scouts BSA. It's the highest rank in Cub Scouting and culminates in the Crossover Ceremony.
